How to get service
Provision of Cooperative Society Registration Services
Cooperative societies are registered in accordance with Section 06 of the Cooperative Societies Act 2001 (Amendment 2002 and 2013). The following procedure should be followed to get this service:
1) At least 20 members or more should fill the application form prescribed as per the Cooperative Societies Rules 2004 (Amendment 2020) and apply along with the Upazila Cooperative Officer, District Cooperative Officer through Cox's Bazar and attach 03 (three) copies of the bye-laws.
 2) In the name of the association, the registration fee of Rs.
3) 02 (two) year draft budget of the association has to be presented.
4) Attested copy of National Identity Card / Citizenship Certificate of all members should be attached.
5) The Upazila Cooperative Officer, Cox's Bazar Sadar has to submit a certificate stating that it will not clash with other cooperative societies.

 

Training Services:
1) Every 02 months, the mobile training unit (1 trainer and 1 assistant trainer) of the district co-operative office of this department conducts training at the association level with 03 (three) guest speakers.
2) According to the demand, training of cooperatives is arranged at Bangladesh Cooperative Academy, Comilla and Regional Cooperative Educational Institution, Feni.

 

Attendance and audit services:
1) Annual audit of co-operative societies is done in accordance with section 43 of the Co-operative Societies Act 2001 (Amendment 2002 and 2013). No application is required for this.
2) According to Section 46 of the Cooperative Societies Act 2001 (Amendment 2002 and 2013), the co-operative societies are inspected and the good and bad aspects of the co-operative society are brought to the notice of the members. In this case the registrar may visit on his own initiative or on application by the association.

 

Dispute Resolution:
Disputes of co-operative societies are settled in accordance with Section 50 of the Co-operative Societies Act 2001 (Amendments 2002 and 2013). In this case, a member of the association or anyone concerned can file a dispute case with the district co-operative officer with a court fee of Rs. 100 / - (one hundred). It is disposed of within 60 (sixty) days of receipt of the case. However, in special circumstances, the dispute must be settled within an additional period of 60 (sixty) days.
